Heat treatment process of SUS630 laminated steel plates?
The heat treatment focuses on precipitation hardening via a “solution treatment + aging” sequence to balance strength and toughness.
Solution Treatment
Eliminates lamination-induced stress and prepares for hardening.
Heat to 1020–1060°C, hold 30–60 minutes (adjust based on thickness).
Oil or air quenching ensures uniform structure and prevents carbide precipitation.
Aging Treatment
Promotes precipitation of strengthening phases to increase hardness.
Temperature: 480–500°C for high hardness, 550–580°C for balanced strength and toughness.
Hold 2–4 hours, then air cool to room temperature; Cu-rich precipitates increase strength and hardness.
Key Points:
Solution treatment is required before aging to relieve internal stress.
Higher aging temperatures slightly reduce strength but improve toughness; select based on application.
Control furnace atmosphere to prevent oxidation and maintain surface quality.
