How to choose a protective film for SUS630 laminated steel plates?
The core principles for selecting a protective film for SUS630 laminated steel plates are: “compatible with surface properties + suitable for application scenario + prevent damage and corrosion.” Key considerations include adhesion, material, and environmental resistance.
1. Core Performance Requirements: Fit Steel Plate Characteristics
* Adhesion: Choose low to medium adhesion (180° peel force 5-15 N/25 mm) to avoid adhesive residue from high-adhesion films or easy detachment from low-adhesion films.
* Non-corrosive material: Prefer PE (polyethylene) or PP (polypropylene) films without acidic or alkaline components to protect the steel’s passive layer.
* Thickness: For normal assembly, 40-60 μm balances protection and conformability. For handling or temporary outdoor storage, 60-80 μm thicker films enhance puncture and abrasion resistance.

2. Scenario-Based Selection
* Indoor short-term assembly (1–3 months): Standard PE protective films meet basic scratch and oil protection needs; removal leaves no residue.
* Outdoor or marine environment: PE film with UV and anti-aging layers resists sunlight, rain, and salt spray, preventing corrosion after film aging or damage.
* High-precision surfaces or long-term storage (3–6 months): CPP (cast polypropylene) composite films offer tight adhesion, high tensile strength, excellent aging resistance, and temperature tolerance (-10°C to 60°C).

3. Key Selection Considerations
* Avoid PVC films: PVC releases plasticizers over time, potentially contaminating the steel surface and reducing corrosion resistance.
* Check temperature compatibility: Films must withstand slight temperature rises during assembly (e.g., near welding) without melting adhesive.
* Test adhesion stability: Apply a sample film, leave for 24–48 hours, then remove to check for adhesive residue and surface damage.

4. Additional Features (Preferable)
* Easy-peel edges for quick removal during assembly.
* Transparency for visual inspection to ensure the surface condition is visible.
