Factors to consider when selecting laminated steel plate materials
The core principle is to match material performance with lamination process, usage environment, and core requirements, avoiding failure or unnecessary costs.
Corrosive environment: For exposure to atmosphere, freshwater, mild acids/alkalis, or chemical media, select corrosion-resistant materials (e.g., SUS630, 316 stainless steel). Dry environments can use carbon or low-alloy steel.
Lamination process temperature and pressure: High-temperature/high-pressure lamination requires heat-resistant, deformation-resistant materials (e.g., SUS630, Inconel); normal low-pressure conditions can use structural steel.
Core mechanical requirements: High-strength or impact-loaded components require high-strength materials (e.g., SUS630 martensitic stainless steel, high-strength alloy); basic load-bearing can use Q235, Q355 carbon steel.
Processing and forming: For cutting, welding, or cold working, select materials with good machinability (e.g., SUS630, 304 stainless steel); avoid brittle or hard-to-weld materials.
